Business Pages: Reports and Takedown
Last updated 2 October 2026Effective 26 September 2026
What this covers
A business on Viremail can publish a page at viremail.com/<name>. The business decides what its page says and is the controller of what the page shows. We host the page and act on reports about it. This policy explains how anyone can report a page, how we decide, and how a business can appeal. It is our notice and action process under the EU Digital Services Act.
Reporting a page
Every business page has a Report this page link at the bottom. You do not need an account. Choose what is wrong (a scam, phishing, pretending to be someone else, illegal goods or services, copyright or trade mark, hate or harassment, adult content, or something else), add the details, and leave your email if you want to hear back. The business never sees who reported it.
You can also report a page at [email protected]. For a copyright or trade mark complaint, include what our Acceptable Use Policy asks for.
How we decide
- A person at Viremail looks at every report and checks the page against our Acceptable Use Policy and the law.
- A new page is hidden automatically while we look if several different people report it within a day in its first 30 days, or if anyone reports it as phishing in its first week. A page a person has put back is not hidden automatically again.
- A page whose name looks like a well-known brand waits for a check before it goes public.
- We can restore a page, hide it, remove it, or take back a page name that copies someone else’s.
- If you left your email, we tell you what we decided.
The statement of reasons
Whenever we hold, hide or remove a page, we send the business’s owner and admins a statement of reasons, by email and in the page editor. It says what we did, the ground (for example a scam, phishing, or several reports in a short time), whether it was done automatically or by a person, any note from the person who decided, and how to appeal. We also tell the business when a page is restored.
Appeals
To appeal, reply to the email with the statement of reasons, or contact us at [email protected]. Tell us why you think the decision was wrong and what you have changed. A person who did not make the first decision looks at the appeal, and we tell you the outcome. You may also use an out-of-court dispute settlement body certified under the Digital Services Act, or the courts.
[Lawyer to confirm the appeal wording and whether we must name a certified dispute settlement body]
Records and transparency
We keep a log of every decision, its ground and whether it was automated, for our transparency reporting, and the business’s own audit log records each action on its page. Reports are kept with the decision they led to.
[Lawyer to confirm whether the UK Online Safety Act applies to business pages, which are not user-to-user, and to set how long reports are kept]
