Sign in with Viremail: One account for the other apps and websites you use
Use your Viremail account to sign in to other apps and websites. An app gets only what you allow, and you can remove it any time.
What an app gets
Only what you allow
Your name and photo, your email address and, if you choose, the business you work for. You see the list before you agree, and you can leave your business out.
A private ID for each developer
Each company gets its own ID for you, so two companies can’t compare notes and follow you from one app to the other.
Verified apps are marked
Apps Viremail has checked show a Verified badge with the company behind them. Apps still in development say so.
Passkeys and two-step
You sign in the way you always do in Viremail, with a passkey, your password, or two-step verification.
You hear about new sign-ins
The first time you sign in to an app, Viremail tells you in your notifications, with a link to remove it if it was not you.
Remove an app any time
Settings, AI and connected apps lists every app you signed in to. Remove ends its access at once.
What an app never sees
- Your email, your Vire chats, your files, your calendar or anything else in your account.
- Your password, your passkeys or your two-step codes.
- The same ID another company gets for you.
- Anything you did not tick on the consent screen.
For developers
Standard OpenID Connect
Discovery, the authorisation code flow with PKCE, signed ID tokens and a JWKS. Any OpenID Connect library works.
SDKs for JavaScript, Node and React
Sign in from the browser, handle the callback on your server, or drop a ready-made button into a React app.
A developer portal
Create an organisation, add apps, set callback addresses, rotate secrets and invite your team at /developers.
Development and live
Up to 100 people can try an app in development. Prove your domain and send it for review to go live for everyone.
Sign-out that reaches you
RP-initiated, back-channel and front-channel logout, so a sign-out in Viremail can end the session in your app too.
Business details when allowed
Ask for the business scope to learn the person’s business on Viremail and their role in it, for apps made for teams. Each business decides whether apps may see it: by default only apps Viremail has reviewed.
The button
Apps use the official button, so you always know what you are pressing.
Questions
- Does the app see my email?
- No. Sign in with Viremail only tells an app who you are, with the details you allow. It opens nothing in your account.
- Does the app get my password?
- No. You sign in on viremail.com, and the app only gets a signed note from Viremail saying it is you.
- How do I remove an app?
- Open Settings, AI and connected apps and choose Remove next to the app. It loses access at once.
- What does Verified mean?
- Viremail has checked that the company owns the app’s domain, has a privacy policy and terms, and uses the name and logo it shows.
