Apps you sign in to with ViremailNew

What an app gets when you sign in with Viremail, and how to remove it.

Some apps and websites have a Sign in with Viremail button. It lets you use your Viremail account instead of making a new password for them. You sign in on viremail.com, the way you always do, with a passkey, your password or two-step verification. The app never sees your password.

What the app gets

Before anything is shared, Viremail shows you the app's name and logo, the company behind it, and exactly what it is asking for:

  • Know it's you: a private ID for you. Each company gets a different one, so companies can't use it to follow you from one app to another.
  • Your name and photo, with your language and time zone.
  • Your email address.
  • Your business: the name of your business on Viremail and your role in it. This one is optional: you can untick it, and the app still works.
  • Stay signed in: lets the app keep you signed in when you are not using it, until you remove it.

The app never sees your email, Vire chats, files, calendar or anything else in your account.

Verified apps and apps in development

  • A Verified badge means Viremail has checked the app: the company proved it owns its website, has a privacy policy and terms, and uses its own name and logo.
  • An app marked in development is still being built. Only the people its developer has added can sign in to it. Only continue if you know who made it.
Check the address in your browser says viremail.com before you sign in. Viremail never asks for your password on another website.

When you sign in

The first time you sign in to an app, you get a notification in the bell, and on your phone if you allow it. If it was not you, remove the app straight away and change your password.

If an app's sign-in is ever used in a way that looks wrong, Viremail ends it to be safe and tells you. Just sign in to the app again.

Remove an app

  1. Open Settings, AI and connected apps.
  2. Find the app in the list. It shows what the app may see and when you last used it.
  3. Choose Remove. The app loses access at once.

Removing it here does not delete an account you made with the app itself. To do that, ask the app.

Signing out

When you sign out of an app, Viremail may ask whether you want to sign out of Viremail too. Choose Stay signed in to keep using Viremail.
