Shelf, the Viremail app store
Shelf is where you find native apps for work and for making things: photo and video editors, audio tools, accounting, data and more. Every app signs you in with Viremail, and developers all over the world can publish here.
What you get
Apps for work and making things
Photo, video, audio, graphics, 3D, developer tools, accounting, data, science and more. Apps that do what Viremail’s own apps already do are not listed, so nothing here tries to replace your Mail or Drive.
Signed in with Viremail
Every app uses Sign in with Viremail. You see what it asks for before you agree, and each developer gets a private ID for you, not your email or your files.
The real installer, checked
Apps come as the native installer for your Mac, Windows or Linux computer, signed by the developer. Every file is scanned and its SHA-256 is shown so you can check it.
Free or paid, and you can get your money back
Free apps are added to your library with one click. For paid apps, ask for a refund within 14 days and your first refund of an app needs no reason.
Honest ratings
One review per person, only from people who got the app, and never from the people who made it. You can report a review, and admins can hide it.
Developers you can see
Every publisher is verified. Businesses selling to you show their address and registration details on the listing.
Questions
- Is Shelf open?
- Shelf is being built. Free apps come first, and paid checkout opens once payments are switched on. This page will say when it is live.
- Do I have to use Sign in with Viremail?
- Yes. Every app on Shelf uses it. It gives you a private ID for each person, and a licence check for paid apps.
- Which computers do apps run on?
- Mac, Windows and Linux, as native installers. A developer chooses which platforms and chips to support, and the page shows what each app has.
- How much does it cost to publish?
- Registering is free. Free apps pay nothing. Paid apps pay a flat 15% commission on the price, with payment processing included.
- Can I get a refund?
- Yes. Within 14 days of buying, ask for a refund. Your first refund of an app is given without questions. A refund takes back the licence.
- Why can’t I publish a mail or notes app?
- Shelf is for apps that add to Viremail, not ones that replace it. The list of categories we do not accept is in the developer guidelines.
- What happens if a developer breaks the rules?
- They get a strike. Strikes lead to a warning, restrictions, suspension or a ban, and each can be appealed. Malware, fraud, child sexual abuse material and impersonation mean an immediate ban.
