The Advanced workspace in CanvasNew
Tools on the left, layers with blend modes, history, properties and picture adjustments on the right.
Switch on Advanced at the top of a design for a workspace with tools on the left and panels on the right, the way photo editors work. Your choice is remembered. Advanced is not on phones.

Panels
- Layers: every layer on the page, top first. Pick a blend mode, such as Multiply, Screen or Overlay, and the opacity of the selected layer.
- History: every change you made since you opened the design. Choose a step to go back to it, and a later one to go forward again.
- Properties: the position, size and angle of what is selected, as numbers, and its main colour.
- Adjustments: brightness, contrast, saturation, hue, blur, black and white, sepia and vignette for a picture. Adjustments never change the picture itself, so Reset brings it back.
Rulers and snapping can be switched off in the bar at the top.
Canvas works with layers: text, shapes, pictures and icons. It does not paint on the pixels of a picture.
