Repeating tasks and templatesNew
Repeat on the second Tuesday or the last working day, skip holidays, and reuse whole boards with a start date.
Open a task and choose Repeat. Pick a common option, or Custom for anything else:
- every N days, working days, weeks (on the weekdays you choose), months or years,
- in a month: on day 15, on the second Tuesday, on the last Friday, or on the first or last working day,
- count from the due date (on a schedule) or from when the last one was done,
- if it lands on a weekend or holiday: keep the date, or move it to the working day before or after. Public holidays for England and Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, India and the United States are built in,
- create the next one when this one is done, or a number of days ahead so it shows in Calendar and Workload early,
- ends never, after a number of times, or on a date.
The editor shows the next few dates before you save. Day 31 falls back to the last day of shorter months, and a date moved for a holiday never drifts the rest of the series. The next copy always lands after this one: if the 20th is a Sunday and this copy moved back to Friday the 18th, the next one is the 20th of next month. Counted from when it was done, the next copy lands after the day you finished it, and finishing early never makes a second copy for the same date. Skip this one archives this copy and makes the next; Stop repeating ends the series without deleting anything.
Templates
From a board’s menu choose Save as template. Dates become days from the project start, and you can name the part each person plays, like Owner or Designer. In Templates choose Use and give a start date (or an end date to plan backwards) and who fills each role. Repeat runs a template on a schedule, for example a month-end close on the last working day of every month, either as a new board or into an existing board with a label like “Close: March”. Each run happens once, even after a restart, and keeps the version of the template it started with.
