Open a mailbox someone shared with youNew

Accept an invitation, open the mailbox from your account menu, and know what the owner sees.

When someone shares their mailbox with you, you get a notification and the invitation waits in Settings, People and access under Shared with me.

  1. Choose Review. It says whose mailbox it is, exactly what you can do, and until when.
  2. Choose Accept, or Decline if you don’t want it.

To open it, choose your picture at the top right. Their mailbox is listed under Shared with you. Opening it does not switch your account: you stay signed in as yourself.

While it is open, a bar at the top says whose mailbox you are in, and that its owner can see what you do there. You only see the buttons your access allows.

  • Reading does not mark mail as read for them.
  • What you send comes from their address and shows that you sent it on their behalf.
  • With Can view and reply, a reply goes only to people who are already in the conversation.

To stop, choose Leave under Shared with me. If the owner removes your access, or it reaches its end date, the mailbox closes and disappears from your list.
