Time off and holiday allowances
Ask for time off, approve it, and see balances that come from a ledger you can check.
In Time off, choose Ask for time off, the type, and the days (or a morning, an afternoon, or hours). You see how much it takes from your balance before you send it. Your manager is told straight away.
When it is approved, any of your shifts on those days become open shifts so someone else can cover. A request that would take your balance below zero, or falls on a day your business blocks, shows a warning to your manager. It never stops the request.
Your business can approve short requests automatically, for example one day with 14 days' notice.
Allowances
| Where | Starting point |
|---|---|
| UK | 5.6 weeks a year, up to 28 days: 28 days for 5 days a week, 16.8 for 3. Irregular hours and part year workers earn 12.07% of the hours they work |
| Australia | 4 weeks a year (5 for shift workers) and 10 days of personal or carer's leave, earned as ordinary hours are worked. Casuals get none |
| United States | No federal paid leave: set your own, such as 1 hour for every 30 worked. California sick leave is a preset |
| EU | At least 4 weeks |
Every balance is the sum of a ledger: the yearly allowance, time earned with each approved timesheet, requests, changes and carry over. Admins can add or take time with a reason.
