A goal has a period and key results. Each key result measures itself:

• the share of tasks done on boards you choose,
• the number of tasks that reach a column, like Won,
• a cell in a Grid, following its live value, formulas included,
• the number of Collect responses, optionally only those with a given answer,
• the total of a number field, like Deal value,
• or a number you update in a check-in.

People who cannot open a key result’s board, Grid or form see that its value is hidden, unless the goal owner chooses to show it. Copy to the next period starts the same goal again. Goals can sit under bigger goals, and your current ones appear on the boards page under My goals.

A portfolio follows a set of boards: each board’s latest status and its history, progress, open and overdue work, the next milestone, the finish against its baseline, and hours against budget. Board editors post status updates from the board menu. A small dashboard shows open work by board, overdue work by person and tasks finished each week.
