Swaps, open shifts and cover
Offer a shift you can’t work, take an open one, and ask for cover. Every rule is checked for both people.
Offer a shift
In Swaps, choose Offer next to one of your next shifts. You can offer it to anyone who can work it, to one colleague, or swap it for one of theirs. You keep the shift until the swap is approved.
When someone accepts, every check runs for both of you: the job role, location, time off, rest between shifts and weekly hours. A swap that breaks a rule cannot be accepted, and the reason is shown.
A manager then approves it. Your business can also choose that a swap which keeps every rule is approved straight away. Offers close a set time before the shift starts (12 hours unless your business changes it).
Open shifts
Open shifts lists shifts nobody has that you could work. Depending on your business, the first person to take one gets it, or you ask and a manager confirms. Shifts opened by approved time off show here too.
Cover
A manager can choose Needs cover on a shift. It becomes an open shift, and the people best placed to take it are told.
