Send a big file

When your attachments add up to more than 25 MB, Mail offers Send as a Drive link instead.

1. Choose how long the link works: 7, 30 or 90 days, or with no end.
2. If you like, turn on Ask for a password. Mail makes one for you to copy. It is not put in the email, so send it another way, like a text message.
3. The file goes to Sent from Mail in your Drive, and the message gets a card with a download link.

Files you pick from Drive that are too big to attach work the same way.

Ask someone to send you files

1. In a message, choose Insert, then Upload link (request files).
2. Say what the files are for, add a note if you like, and choose how long the link works and how much it can take.
3. The message gets an Upload files button.

Anyone with the link can send you files without an account. They give their name and email, and their files land in a new folder under File requests in your Drive. You get a notification when they are done. Programs and scripts are refused.
