Quiet hoursNew

Hold notifications while you sleep or focus, with room for what really matters.

Quiet hours hold your notifications for Mail, Vire, calls, Tasks and Calendar reminders.

  1. Open Settings, Notifications and turn on Quiet hours.
  2. Set the days and times, for example Monday to Friday, 22:00 to 07:00. Add another time for weekends if you like.
  3. Choose what stays quiet, and what still gets through: your Favourites, @mentions and Repeated calls (the same person calling twice within 3 minutes).

To take a break without a schedule, choose 1 hour or Until tomorrow under Pause notifications, here or in the notifications bell.

Messages still arrive while it's quiet, just without a sound or a notification. When quiet hours end you get one short summary of what you missed.

What other people see

If you turn on Show others I'm in quiet hours, people see a small moon on your picture, and when they write to you they see when your quiet hours end. Their messages arrive quietly. They can also:

  • choose Send at to have it arrive when your quiet hours end, or
  • choose Notify anyway for something that can't wait. You decide who may do this: everyone, your favourites or nobody, and each person can only do it once an hour.

Anyone can also choose Send quietly in the send options at any time.

Quiet hours use the time zone you set them in. If you travel, Settings offers to switch them to your device's time.
