Lock Viremail when you step away
Hide everything without signing out, then unlock with your passcode or password.
Locking keeps you signed in but hides everything until you unlock. It's quicker than signing out and back in.
- Open your account menu (your photo, top right) and choose Lock.
- Or press Cmd + Shift + L on a Mac, Ctrl + Shift + L on Windows and Linux. Some browsers keep these keys for themselves; the menu always works.
When you lock, drafts you're writing are saved first, and every tab and every account signed in on this browser locks together. Nothing of your mail, chats or Vault stays on screen or in memory, and the server won't answer any request until you unlock.
To unlock, type your passcode, or choose Use password instead. If two-step verification is on, the password also needs your code, unless this device is trusted.
Only the account that was in use when Viremail locked can unlock it. Other accounts signed in alongside it can't, so someone who knows the password of a shared mailbox you added can't open your own. To use a different account, choose Sign in with a different account: that signs this browser in afresh, and the locked accounts are signed out of it. If the account that locked it was signed out meanwhile, you sign in again the same way.
Lock automatically
In Settings, Security, under Lock this device, choose how long Viremail waits without use before it locks: 5, 15 or 30 minutes, or 1 hour. Use in any tab counts.
