Import, bulk edit and exportNew

Bring boards over with their history, change many tasks at once, and take everything with you.

Import

On the boards page choose Import, or Import into this board from a board’s menu. You can bring:

  • a board export (.json) from a kanban tool, with lists, labels, checklists, comments, custom fields and attachments,
  • a project export (.csv) or an issue tracker export (.csv),
  • any table saved as .csv or .tsv: choose what each column holds,
  • a board exported from Tasks, as a .zip with its files or as .json.

You see a preview before anything is created. Dates land on the same day on your clock (or the board’s). Subtasks and dependencies are matched by ID, a second ID column or the task’s title. People on the board are assigned; others are noted on their tasks and can be invited from the report, and get their tasks when they join. Comments note who wrote them and when. Attachments that can be reached are copied in; the rest stay as links. Importing the same file again skips what is already there.

Bulk edit

In List, tick tasks, or hold Shift to select a range. On the board, Cmd or Ctrl click cards. The bar at the bottom moves, assigns, labels, sets priority or dates, shifts dates, sets a field, a sprint or an epic, moves tasks to another board, archives or (for admins) deletes. You can undo for 30 seconds.

Export

Export board in the board menu gives everything, with files (.zip), everything without files (.json), a task list (.csv), or a new Grid. The .zip and .json also hold each task's email thread, requesters, approvals and service levels, and the board's inbox, request forms, rules and reports settings (private links are never included).
