Turn an email or a Vire into a task

Keep the text, the files and a link back to where it started.

From Mail

  1. Open the email and choose Add to Tasks in the message menu or the More options menu at the top, or press t.
  2. Make a New task (pick the board, column, due date, people and priority), or add the email to an Existing task as a comment.
  3. Choose whether to copy the text and the files, and whether to keep a link to the email.

The email then shows In Tasks with the task and its status. In the task, you can open the email in Mail; people who do not have it see the saved copy. End-to-end encrypted emails keep only their subject and a link.

From Vire

  1. Open the message menu on a Vire message and choose Make a task.
  2. The title comes from the message, and dates like "by Friday" are picked up. Choose the board and who it is for.
  3. Leave Post a note on to add a short reply in the chat, so both of you can see it became a task.

The note shows a live task card to people on the board: its status, who has it, the due date and any approval, updated as the task changes. Anyone who pastes a link to a task in a Vire gets the same card. People who are not on the board just see the message.

To turn several messages into one task, choose Select in the message menu, tick the messages, and choose the task button at the top. Each message becomes a checklist item.

The task keeps a link back to the message, which only people in that conversation can open.
