Make a design in PintasNew

Pintas is where you make designs: posts for social media, stories, flyers, posters, invitations, business cards, email headers and banners. Everything you make is a Pintas design, kept in Drive with your other files.

Start a design

1. Open Pintas and choose New Pintas.
2. Pick a size, such as Instagram post, Instagram and Facebook story, LinkedIn post, A4 flyer or Business card, or type your own in pixels, millimetres or inches.
3. Or start from one of the templates on the Pintas home page. See Pintas templates in your own brand.

Add things

The bar on the left adds what you need:

• Templates: ready-made designs, in your brand with Viremail Business.
• Elements: shapes, lines and arrows, picture frames and icons.
• Text: a heading, a subheading or body text, and font pairings that go together.
• Uploads: your own pictures, from this device or from Drive. You can also drag pictures onto the page, or paste them.
• Photos: free photos to search and place, from photo libraries such as Openverse, Pexels, Unsplash and Pixabay. See Free photos in Pintas.
• Brand (Viremail Business): your logo and icon, and your brand colours and fonts.
• Backgrounds: colours, gradients and patterns for the page.

Change things

Select something to see what you can change in the bar above the page: the font, size, weight and colour of text, its spacing, effects such as a shadow, an outline or a background behind the text, and how see-through it is. A picture can be replaced, cropped, adjusted and given a frame shape, a border and round corners.

• Drag to move, use the handles to resize, and the round handle above to turn. Guides appear when things line up with the page or with each other.
• Hold Shift while you drag to keep to one direction, and Alt to move without the guides.
• Double-click text to type, and a picture to move it inside its frame.
• Right-click for copy, paste, duplicate, layer order, group and lock. Copy works between designs too.
• Position and order lines things up and spaces them evenly. Layers lists everything on the page: drag to change the order, double-click to rename, or hide and lock layers.
• Add, duplicate and reorder pages in the strip under the page.

Download and share

Choose Download for a PNG, a transparent PNG, a JPG, a PDF for print or an SVG. Pictures can be 1x, 2x or 3x the size. The same window saves the file to Drive or attaches it to a new email.

Choose Share to work on a design together, the same way as a Write doc or a Deck. People you share it with see your changes as you make them, and anyone with a Viremail account can edit a design you let them edit. Share in Vire, in the File menu, posts the design in a chat as a live card.
