Adding pictures and files

Everything you add comes from Drive, or from your computer through Drive, and pictures are cropped to fit.

Wherever you add a picture or a file, such as your profile photo, a logo, a cover, a picture in a Write doc, Deck, Canvas or note, or a group photo in Vire, the same window opens with your Drive in it.

  • Recent shows your newest pictures first. My files, Shared and Starred let you look through Drive, and the search box finds anything by name.
  • Upload from computer (or drop a file on the window) saves the file in the Uploads folder of your Drive first, then uses it. So everything you add is kept in Drive too.

Cropping

When the place needs a shape, the picture opens in the cropper: a circle for a profile photo, a square for an icon, a wide box for a cover. Drag to move it, scroll, pinch or use the slider to zoom, and rotate it with the turn button or R. Save keeps the cropped picture where you were and a copy in Uploads in Drive. Choose another takes you back to Drive.
