Getting apps from the Viremail Store
Find an app, add it to your library and download it for your computer.
The Viremail Store is Viremail’s app store: native apps for Mac, Windows and Linux, mostly for work and for making things such as photos, video, audio and data. Every app uses Sign in with Viremail.
Get an app
- Open the Viremail Store and find an app. Search, or browse by category.
- Open its page. It shows the developer, what it needs, its ratings and which computers it runs on.
- Choose Get. A free app is added to your library straight away.
- Choose Download for your computer. The download link works for 5 minutes. You can ask for a new one any time from your library.
- Open the installer you downloaded and follow it, as you would for any app.
Check what you downloaded
Each download shows its SHA-256, a fingerprint of the file. If you want to be sure it is the file the developer uploaded, compare it with the fingerprint of your download. Developers sign their installers, and every file is checked and looked at by a person before it can be downloaded.
When you open the app
The first time you sign in to an app with Viremail you see what it asks for before you agree. Each developer gets a private ID for you, and you can remove the app any time in Settings, AI and connected apps.
Updates
For now you update an app by downloading the new version from its Viremail Store page. Updating from inside the Viremail desktop app is planned.
